One of the not-so-well kept secrets in our little world of old-time jazz is this laid-back fine time in the wine country north of San Francisco. The setting and facilities at the Cline Cellars Winery are perfect for a summer afternoon, listening or dancing to many of the San Francisco Bay Area's finest Dixieland/Ragtime/Blues musicians at four unique venues at the winery. Attendance has grown over the first eleven years to over 800 jazz and wine enthusiasts. This event is actually a reincarnation of the old Oakley Wine & Jazz Festival, produced by Fred Cline and Ken Keeler from 1985-1990. The winery was then located in Oakley, just down the street from Ken's farm (now a vineyard growing some unique grapes for Cline). Three of this year's bands were involved in the Oakley events. Musically speaking, this is a TRAD Jazz event, whatever that means.
